Back-seat Driving Is Dangerous

Respect the driver just like the captain of the ship. If we do not trust the driver, we should not be in the car in the first place. Unless the driver is expecting some direction from us, do not say anything about the driver's choice of action. Even a simple comment like "be careful" can distract the driver. Everyone has his or her own way of driving and we should not expect the driver to follow our habit. Our comment will not help and will put ourselves in danger. If we really want to comment about the driver, do it when arriving at the destination.

If there is a back-seat driver, pull over and either hand over the driving seat or ask the person to get off the car.
