Evangelism
Evangelism means leading others to be saved by Jesus from the bondage of sin like ourselves. Evangelism is the Great Comission of Jesus (Matthew 28:19).

People know it is a sinful world so to protect themselves they perceive that everything that others do has a hidden agenda. They strongly oppose evangelism because they mistakenly think it is for the benefit of Christianity. But in fact evangelism is out of love, in which there is no gain for the evangelist and Christianity. If anybody has a hidden agenda, then it is better for the person not to evangelize at all.

No one has no suffering. Everyone has suffering, and the sufferring is caused by sin. Thus everyone needs salvation from the bondage of sin.

Gospel

What to do

Jesus does not mean everyone to put down the work to go on missionary. We still need to contribute to the productivity for the benefit of the society. It is inappropriate to say that Jesus wants to impose such a burden on every Christian to aggressively evangelize everyone within earshot. Furthermore, people who do not know us have no reason to believe in what we say.

Jesus means to behave ourselves to glorify God (Matthew 5:16) so that our life can influence the people around for the gospel to spread automatically. Live holy and the evangelism will fall into place naturally. Action speaks louder than words. Set as a role model on how Christians should be and others will observe us over a period of time. Every action should be emulatable. Thus be noble all the time. Live a life that becomes a blessing for people around us. Show ourselves as living faith. Be a live testimony, the salt and light. Humble down ourselves to be friendly to everyone even though there is no response. Give attention to everyone. Be generous, such as giving gift to neighbours during Christmas. When we are the salt, we can make others thirsty, flavour others' life and preserve others from corruption. When we live in light humbly, people's sins are exposed. If we can do this, then even if we live in an environment where gospel is suppressed, gospel can still be spread. Good things do not need hard selling. People will be amazed that we are not trying hard to evangelize them and they may want to know more. Even if we do not harvest, the seed is already planted.

Jesus is our Lord. That means we have to do everything in His name, or else it will be of no value. Since whatever we do is in His name so we have to make sure we do not do inappropriate things.

Preach about morality. Out of love advise acquaintances about their sin, such as smoking.

Love one another (John 13:35).

Family members should be the first to believe in the gospel because they can see our manner clearly. Some of us may encounter hostile family members due to our faith (Matthew 10:21) but we must still live up the testimony. If even our family members do not believe in gospel, it means our manner is not good enough. Then do not think to spread gospel to others yet.

Show and tell. Tell others that we are saved from the bondage of sin, such as in the social media. We still need to be able to explain the gospel that has saved us. We need to be ready all the time to share the gospel (1 Peter 3:15). Keep a piece of gospel flyer in the wallet if desired. We can display the gospel at home, work desk, car or website.

Tell about God's grace. God gives grace to everyone. For common grace, food and shelter are given to all without them knowing it. However in special grace, if people do not know that their sin has been pardoned, they will still be under the dominion of sin (Romans 6:14). In other words, if a person is still in the bondage of sin, then the person does not know yet that his sin has been forgiven by God.

When the gospel is finally shared, also share the way of prayer. Either pray to Heavenly Father in Jesus' name, or pray to Jesus without ending the prayer in Jesus' name. Either way, Jesus makes intercession for us. Example:
a) Heavenly Father, please save me from the bondage of sin. In Jesus' name. Amen.
b) Jesus, please save me from the bondage of sin. Amen.

Some people will pick a fight with Christians. Distortion, unreasonable argument, wrong knowledge or vulgar language may be purposely said to annoy Christians. This is a good time to evangelize. Do not tell them how Christians should be, but show them. If some people come in an unfriendly way and ask question, respond for one time. If they cannot engage in a meaningful discussion, then do not repeat for the second time (Matthew 7:6). Their heart is already hardened. They have their own answer but pretend to ask question. Discuss to spread awareness, not to win. Ignore any insult, but praise them for any good they have, thank them for the discussion, then bless them in Jesus' name.

The number of people brought to the salvation by individual using this method may be few. But the foundation of their faith will be stronger because they have learnt through observation and they seek to repent on their own. By bringing the people that we interact daily to salvation, we are also able to guide them in spiritual life after salvation. If everyone is doing the same thing, the number of people saved becomes great.

Even if the persons may not get saved, we still remain as friends. The relationship should not be driven by evangelistic motive.

What not to do

The gospel is to save people from the bondage of sin. Do not present the gospel in a way that brings self-gratification, such as physical healing, free lunch, relationship, wisdom, peace or heaven. The most important thing is they can live in discipline. Then peace and heaven will come by themselves.

The gospel does not need packaging. Do not say that there are a lot of Christians in the world. Do not talk about the person's religion. The person may be offended and burrow even deeper into that religion. Do not waste time to argue or debate for gospel. If a person does not accept the simple plain gospel, then there is no wisdom of words that can convince the person.

When sharing the gospel, do not say to ask Jesus into the heart. This is unbiblical because it is Holy Spirit that will dwell in Christians.

Do not uphold any church or any special doctrine other than the gospel.
