Transparent Church Finances Are Compulsory
church bookkeeping
The church should be the light of the world. Thus its finances must not be handled in the dark. While personal offerings should be a secret, the church account should be transparent. Like a company, embezzlement can happen in a church.

The church must disclose financial statement. The account must be audited at least once a year. We do not want to contribute to the bad testimony of the church on matters pertaining to finances.

With the transperency, church members can make decision on the amount of offering based on church finances. Look at the surplus in church's monthly financial report before making decision on the amount of the offering. If the church already has a lot of surplus, reduce the offering amount. Big amount of money can corrupt anybody. If the church is spending unnecessary money and the pastor is living a luxurious life (which is a bad testimony), it is time to cut down the offering amount. Stop offering if the church's financial report is unclear or the church starts to do an investment.
